333’s Music at the Museum featuring Sue Palmer

In the spirit of Women’s History month, OMA welcomes back The Sue Palmer Quartet, paying tribute to trailblazing female pioneers of music. In the years following the 2nd World War, the niche between jazz and blues (precursors of rock and roll), was being filled by small piano combos fronted by female singers.

These were performers who mixed boogie woogie, swing, ballads and blues with sly, suggestive lyrics. Stars such as Hadda Brooks, Nellie Lutcher, Julia Lee and Camille Howard came to the forefront. The Sue Palmer Quartet, with Deejha Marie on vocals and Sue tearing up the 88s, captures this style perfectly.

Guests will enjoy an open-air cocktail format with plenty of delicious gourmet appetizers, desserts and specialty wines from 333 Pacific Restaurant in Oceanside served throughout the evening.

Visit oma-online.org or call (760) 435-3721 for reservations, or get your tickets at the door the night of the event.

Location: Oceanside Museum of Art, 704 Pier View Way Oceanside, California 92054 Google Maps
