The San Diego Dance Theater Live Arts Festival is a 10-day dance festival that showcases a variety of dance inspired by today's headlines.

Curated by San Diego Dance Theater's Artistic Director Jean Isaacs, the theme for Live Arts Fest 2017 is "Think About It! Dance About It!" using today's issues to guide the work.

All shows will be held at the White Box Theater in Liberty Station. Tickets are $20 for individual performances or $120 for a festival pass. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 12
Sound Dance Company/Erica Buechner in collaboration with Lara Segura perform "SHE," a piece that reimagines gender roles and advocates for equality.

Thursday, April 13
Holding the Line: A Concert by SDDT Work Study Dancers. How do our bodies move in response to heartbreak, loss, or injustice?

Friday, April 14
Heart-Driven: a collection of stories, lessons, and letters by Daniel Díaz, isnpired by letters and notes the artist writes to himself when there's no one to talk to.

Saturday, April 15
Enthalpy of Fusion by artist Anna Katharina Scheidegger. A multimedia performance that uses melting ice sculptures to reflect the effects of global warming.

Wednesday, April 19
Dances by Heather Glabe and Sadie Weinberg, an evening of short dances to be performed with both live and recorded music.

Thursday, April 20
Why American Men Dance by Keith Glassman, see excerpts from this film that's currently in post-production. The film is followed by three male-themed dances.

Friday, April 21
Migration, created by Betzi Roe. Roe and graduates from Coronado School of the Arts present an hour-long series of dances inspired by the idea of migration.

Saturday, April 22
ENTER-action: A collection of works by SDDT Company Dancers.

Sunday, April 23
Requiem for an Ocean, choreographed by Jean Isaacs.
