47th Chicano Park Day Celebration

The 47th Chicano Park Day anniversary celebration will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in historic Chicano Park, located in the Barrio Logan community, under the San Diego-Coronado bridge. The theme for the 2017 is celebration is "Ramón "Chunky" Sánchez: El Corazón Del Pueblo."

This family event is always free and open to the public.

Visitors to Chicano Park Day will experience traditional music and dance, including one of the most beautiful performances of Aztec Indigenous dance, coordinated by Danza Azteca Calpulli Mexihca. The event will also include performances by Ballet Folklórico groups, Mariachi, live bands and speakers representing the Chicano Park Steering Committee, Brown Berets de Aztlán, Amigos Car Club and Via International.

In addition, there will be a display of classic low rider cars presented by Amigos Car Club, children’s art workshop, and various informational booths. Food, arts and crafts vendors will be selling their specialties throughout Chicano Park.
