Adventures by the Book™ is excited to partner with The Worldview Project, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote greater cross-cultural awareness, knowledge, and understanding, on a German Dinner Adventure with the first German author to ever become a #1 New York Times bestseller, Bernhard Schlink.

In 1997 Schlink’s novel, “The Reader,” a story of love and secrets, horror and compassion, unfolding against the haunted landscape of postwar Germany, was published to great acclaim. This internationally bestselling and award-winning novel made Bernhard Schlink one of the most well respected German authors in modern history. Now in 2017, Schlink is back with a novel to thrill his fans: “The Woman on the Stairs” is a powerful novel about obsession, creativity, and love.

Join us at the German American Society of San Diego for the opportunity to meet this internationally acclaimed author and learn how Schlink was inspired to bring together a missing painting, a mysterious woman, her husband, and a lover in one intricate and poignant book. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with an authentic, delicious, and all inclusive German meal with choice of wine or beer served at 7 p.m. Don’t miss this chance to attend a one-of-a-kind Adventure in support of The Worldviews Project’s goal to promote a stronger understanding of the world’s many diverse cultures.

Your Adventure includes: German dinner, choice of beer or wine, donation to The Worldview Project, author talk, book signing, and the chance to meet the author up-close and personal in an authentic and unique setting.

Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice. Always check the event organizer's website for the most updated schedule before attending.
