Hornblower Cruises & Events is inviting all children ages 12 and under to explore the bay for free in October. Complimentary tickets will be provided for up to two children, per each paying adult on a one hour or two hour, narrated Harbor Cruise during the entire month of October.

Each Harbor Cruise is narrated by a seasoned Hornblower captain and highlights over 50 famous sites of the Big Bay, including the Coronado Bridge, the Star of India, and military ships including submarines and aircraft carriers. The classic one and two hour cruises have also been given a green twist, with information on local environmental efforts as well as top attractions and natural wonders. The development is part of Hornblower’s company-wide Respect Our Planet program, a series of initiatives designed to reduce the company’s environmental impact and educate the public.

While tour routes will not change, all six daily aboard the "Adventure Hornblower" will incorporate new narrated information, video clips and on-board displays highlighting the company’s eco-outreach. In addition, guests will learn about other local businesses making environmental stewardship a priority.

“Hornblower is encouraging families of San Diego to take advantage of this offer to show children the beautiful scenery of San Diego bay,” said Hornblower Director of Marketing Rebecca Milkey.

For the entire month of October 2009, adults who buy a full-fare Harbor Cruise ticket at $20.00 for a one hour cruise and $25.00 for a two hour cruise will receive two free child rate tickets. Tickets can be picked up at the Hornblower ticket booth located at 1066 North Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego. The passes must be used during the month of October. Get Directions (Google Maps)
