We all know that exercise is good for our heart, our lungs, and our waistline, but it can be hard on our joints. But did you know that walking can actually help relieve some of the joint pain & discomfort caused by arthritis? Join us for our new Walk for Health structured walking class and find out just how good it feels to get out and get moving.
This course will help students slowly build up to 30 minutes or more of walking, making this an ideal program for those who are hesitant to exercise or have never exercised before. Taking the course will help improve your overall health, strength & balance, increase your confidence to be physically active and can relieve pain from arthritis.
Arthritis Exercise Instructor Marilyn Nemeroff will be guiding students on proper walking techniques. Students will receive a workbook to track their progress and take notes helping them to set –and reach– their goals. Walking routes will range from within the Center’s grounds to going out into the neighborhood as students progress.
Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., beginning September 5
