Celebrate Black History Month by seeing this Pulitzer Prize-winning play by August Wilson. The haunting drama is set in 1936 Pittsburgh. Boy Willie has arrived from the South in a battered truck loaded with watermelons to sell. He has an opportunity to buy some land down home, but needs to come up with the money right quick. Boy Willie would like to sell an old family piano to raise the funds, but he shares ownership of it with his sister and she has already rejected several offers for it. She values the antique piano, which is covered with carvings that detail the family's rise from slavery. Boy Willie tries to persuade her that the past is past, but she is more formidable than he anticipated. Some adult language.

The show runs from January 30 through February 28, 2010. Performances on Wednesdays and Thursdays are at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 and 7 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased online or by calling (619) 337-1525.
