Distinction Gallery Presents: "The Lost Children"

A solo debut introducing Jana Brike, a UK based artist in her first significant exhibit held in the United States that runs from May 8 until June 5.

Distinction Gallery continues its superb tradition of exposing the most brilliant artists to the Southern California region by featuring, "The Lost Children,” the work of Jana Brike of the UK. Her style is evocative and entrancing, visiting children frozen in moments of emotion.

The opening reception with the artist, as well as live music will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 from 6-11 p.m. Wine and Karl Strauss beer will be provided for those over 21. We hope you will join us in viewing this exemplary showing.

Jana Brike’s Bio:
Jana Brike is 29 years old, and is based out of the UK. She attended the Art Academy of Latvia, and has shown in numerous places across Europe including galleries in Venice, Italy; Ropazi, Latvia; St. Petersburg, Russia; and London, England. Her penchant for arresting, dream-state (or nightmare-state depending on the piece) images, is delightfully provocative and wonderfully imaginative

Distinction is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery; which changes monthly; "The Alley", featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists; 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, which feature the work of local artists and "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists. The front gallery features contemporary and cutting edge art work with a soft focus on Urban Surrealism. Distinction exhibits work by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists and is located at:
317 East Grand Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025.Directions (Google Maps)
