The Third Avenue Village Certified Farmers' Market operates every Thursday at Third Avenue and Center Street. The longest running farmers market in the South Bay, the Village's market has offered a wide array of local, organic, seasonal produce, directly from the farmers to the eager public for over 16 years.
In addition to fruits, vegetables and potted plants, an international food court offers something for everyone, whether it is a snack, a refreshing beverage or a meal. Not just for foodies, local, handmade arts and crafts are displayed and sold at the market as well.
Not all markets are created equal! The majority of farmers markets throughout San Diego County are not certified. Being a certified farmers market means that our farmers go through extra inspections, both at our market and at their farms, ensuring that the public gets the best quality produce available. Products must be grown at the producer's own farm and meet state quality and maturity standards. The next time you are perusing a local market, be sure to verify its certification.
