'Awake And Sing!' At New Village Arts

New Village Arts stages "Awake and Sing!" a classic American play about Jewish immigrants in New York City during the Great Depression.

The play follows the Bergers, a lower-middle-class, three-generation Jewish family living in a Bronx apartment. While some members of the family see America as rife with opportunity, for others, the American Dream has been shattered. As the generations find themselves at odds, the Bergers must summon the strength of spirit to persevere and thrive.

"Awake and Sing!" marks the long-awaited return of a Clifford Odets play to the NVA stage after the tremendous success of "Golden Boy" in 2008.

The show runs March 17 through April 16, 2017. For additional details call (760) 433-3245.
