Much like tending to the arrangement of rocks in a Zen garden is a peaceful and relaxing activity, EXIST1981 has also found his Zen in creating his own very detailed and intricate line work. It is a slow and time consuming process as he transfers his emotion and experience from his mind to his unique artwork.
However, there is something quite mischievous within the undulating curves and sharp-edged shapes. In EXIST1981’s upcoming show, “Corazón”, at Thumbprint Gallery on December 8th, his latest life experiences and changes give him a new perspective. It influences his multimedia art and allows him to see beauty in the toughest of times.
The exhibit will run from December 8th to January 6th, 2013. A opening reception will be held on December 8th from 5pm to 10pm. Complimentary beverages will be served and all ages are welcome. The show will be open and free to the public
About Exist 1981:
EXIST1981 has been inspired by graffiti from a young age. As a kid, he saw street tags and throw-ups in his town of El Paso. He got into making stickers, posters, and silkscreen art when he moved to San Diego. As his talent grew, he became more involved in putting up his work in the streets. His risky adventures were worth it just to see the different reactions and enjoyment of his art. Fueld by passion for his artistic expression, he is not afraid to come up with bigger and better ideas for his future projects.
The artist is open to the viewers’ responses. One way he keeps his art enjoyable is to make it subjective. Everyone can take what they want and feel comfortable with his work. They are even comfortable enough to buy his work on handmade silkscreen shirts, which he sells on his online store. From graffiti to shirts, there is virtually no stopping the multimedia creativity of EXIST1981.
