You can't know where you are going, unless you know where you have been. The new edition of artist Enosh's “Crevice Creeps” characters explores this idea in his upcoming solo show titled “Dinosoul,” which opens on July 14th at Thumbprint Gallery in La Jolla. Many of you will remember the artist's last solo show in our previous location where he treated onlookers to art work featuring his stocky, bubbly, and hip-hop inspired cartoon characters. In this upcoming exhibit the Crevice Creeps are transported into the past.
The Crevice Creeps have lost their sense of identity and have traveled back to prehistoric times to explore new forms of being. Adapting to this NEW old world, they have transformed into creatures that are a cross between dinosaurs and their former Crevice Creeps shape. This new breed of Crevice Creeps, called “Dinosoul,” is in constant search of inspiration, spirituality, identity, and soulfulness.
The artist Enosh developed his style and technique through a variety of mixed paints, sprayed, splattered, inked, and designed onto various materials. Some of his preferred painting surfaces include canvases, stickers, and neighborhood walls. Enosh attempts to embody the essence of all human beings in his simple, yet appealing characters. The artist strives to promote positivity and soulfulness within children, as well as, adults of all ages.
The artist graduated from The Art Institute of California, San Diego in 2003. Since then, he has been an active participant in the local artist community. Through freelance projects and collaborations with local musicians, artists, and event promoters Enosh constantly strives to expose his art to the public. He also values the exposure to other artists and their various forms of artistic expression.
The opening reception for “Dinosoul” on July 14th will begin at 5pm and will run until 10pm. The event is free to the public and is open to all ages. Complimentary beverages will be served. Thumbprint Gallery is located at 920 Kline St. #104 in La Jolla. (Google Maps) The exhibition will remain in display until August 5.
