James Hubbell Art Exhibition 'What Must Be Hidden'

Renowned San Diego artist and humanitarian, James Hubbell, will showcase a selection of his works in an exhibit entitled “What Must Be Hidden” at St. James By-The-Sea Episcopal Church May 19, 2017 – July 23, 2017.

The exhibit will feature stained glass, paintings and sculptures, and begins on Friday, May 19, 2017 with an opening night reception and public welcome from Hubbell from 6–8 p.m.

He has written five poems specifically for the exhibit and will present them at many of the events planned around the art show. The 85-year-old artist hopes his exhibit will be a catalyst for bringing together local arts organizations to expand their offerings.

Events Overview:
- The show will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and Saturday and Sundays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Friday, May 19, 2017 from 6-8 p.m.: Opening Night
- Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 5 p.m.: Taizé Service – public welcome and reception after
- Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6-8 p.m.: Conversation with Drew Hubbell and The Rev'd Mark Hargreaves
- Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 3-5 p.m.: Marianne Gerdes on Hubbell Art and Studio
- Friday, July 7, 2017 from 6-8 p.m.: Marianne Gerdes on Hubbell Installations in Public Places
- Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 11:15 a.m.-3 p.m.: Closing- St. James Day and barbecue
