Cygnet Theatre kicks off its latest season with Monty Python's "Spamalot," running June 27 through August 12.

There is no show on Wednesday, July 4.

With book and lyrics by Monty Python actor Eric Idle, the highly irreverent parody tells the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers are just a few of the reasons audiences will be eating up "Spamalot."

Show director Sean Murray played King Arthur in Moonlight Stage Production's version in 2014 and he will reprise his role for this version.

(Super) Short Review: Most everyone who goes to "Spamalot" is already on board with the Monty Python brand of humor: bizarre, a little juvenile, and full of puns. And the cast of Cygnet's production does an expert job at balancing the many jokes, songs and silly dance numbers in this story about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Christine Hewitt as the Lady of the Lake is a particular standout. But this show, which debuted on Broadway in 2005, does show its age: the women are basically used as sexy backup dancers, and let's not get into that song about Jews and show business.
