The work of Ansel Adams continues to inspire contemporary photographers working today. "After Ansel Adams" presents a selection of original photographs by Ansel Adams that show the immense beauty of National Parks of the American West, alongside the work of nine contemporary photographers who have photographed in this same landscape.
Together, the selection of images offers viewers an opportunity to experience the rich diversity of photographic approaches that have been used in these preserved American spaces. Ranging from traditional landscape photography to conceptual work that captures the magnitude, essence, and history of each specific place, every artist brings a unique sensibility to these familiar landscapes. In addition to Ansel Adams, photographers included in the exhibition are Mark Klett & Byron Wolfe, Binh Danh, Chris McCaw, Donna J. Wan, Michael Lundgren, Millee Tibbs, Matthew Brandt, and Takeshi Shikama.
Together with this exhibit MOPA also showcases "Aperture Remix," a select group of photographers that respond to an Aperture magazine publication that has been influential forming their work, on view through October 5th.
Admission is $8.00
