Gays and Lesbians for Public Broadcasting
Gays and Lesbians for Public Broadcasting (GLPB) believes that KPBS plays a vital role in the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) community through its superior radio, television and online programming. GLPB seeks to sustain and expand this role by providing personal financial support to KPBS and by garnering the support of others in the LGBT community. After all, nowhere else on radio or television in San Diego can you find a more comprehensive and unbiased presentation of LGBT individuals, issues, and concerns.
- Television programs that provide timely coverage of cultural and historical events and issues that affect the LGBT community.
- Radio news reports and information important to the LGBT community.
- Educational television shows for children and families.
- Community outreach projects for people of all ages.
- Locally produced shows developed for local and national audiences.
Gays and Lesbians for Public Broadcasting members support:
GLPB works to strengthen awareness within KPBS of the issues that are important to the LGBT community and identify potential new programming opportunities. It also works to educate the LGBT community about KPBS, its missions, its programming, and its vision for the future. In addition, Gays and Lesbians for Public Broadcasting provides a model for other public broadcasting organizations around the nation to use for fundraising activities in their own communities.
Those who belong to Gays and Lesbian for Public Broadcasting are part of a select group of individuals who are committed to making a difference in public television and radio in San Diego.
Through objective, truthful, and comprehensive storytelling, KPBS increases acceptance and understanding of the many diverse communities of San Diego. As a result, KPBS helps educate a wide audience about various community history, important issues, and the people who have made a difference for others. Gays and Lesbians for Public Broadcasting recognizes this fact and strives to support this mission of KPBS.
GLPB MEMBER LEVELS:
Directors Club Bronze Level ($500-1,199):
At this membership level you’ll receive a KPBS logo item or choice of video, CD or other thank-you gift available at your specific donation level. You’ll also receive the KPBS license plate frame and the KPBS MemberCard Plus.
Producers Club ($1,200+):
