Infections linked to heart disease

Scientists say heart disease is caused by a combination of genetics and environmental factors. But more researchers link viral and bacterial infections with heart disease and heart failure. We speak with two local heart specialists about the link with infections.
- Dr. Kirk Knowlton , chief of cardiology at UCSD School of Medicine.
- Dr. Roger Davis , biology professor and heart researcher at San Diego State. He is the first researcher to occupy the university's new Bioscience Center.
