San Diego volunteers restore photos for Katrina victims

Most of the families along the Gulf Coast were left with little more than memories after Hurricane Katrina. Whatever few photos left behind by the storm seemed beyond salvaging. But the story doesn't end there volunteers from Hewlett Packard in San Diego and elsewhere teamed up to restore hundreds of photos.
Dwane Brown spoke with Aaron Wilcox from HP in San Diego and John Broggi who lives in Chalmet, Louisiana by cell phone. Broggi describes what things looked like at his house after the storm.(click "listen" icon to hear the story)

Aaron Wilcox is from San Diego. He's one of 200 HP Volunteers from around the country who gave their time to restore hundreds of family photos destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. This is KPBS News I'm Dwane Brown
