CA State Park officials oppose Sunrise Powerlink
Tuesday, August 1, 2006
Mike Wells supervises the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. He says the transmission towers could be as tall as 150 feet.
Wells: "Obviously that would be a great visual impact, and, you know, this park is pretty much distinguished by the fact that it has these vast desert vistas, and I think we have a little over 70 percent of all of California's state wilderness."
Wells also says the Powerlink would disturb rare bighorn sheep habitat.
