Field Poll: Voters support sex offender proposition

A survey by the Field Poll shows that 76 percent of likely voters support Proposition 83. It would raise penalties for violent sex offenders barring them from living within 2,000 feet of a school or park.

The Poll found an almost even split over Proposition 85 -- a measure rejected last year requiring parents be notified 48 hours before their child had an abortion. Voters are also inclined to support measures this fall that would raise cigarette and oil taxes and limit the governments' eminent domain powers.
