Domestic Violence Spikes Over Holidays

Nearly one-third of American women report being physically or sexually abused by a husband or boyfriend at some point in their lives. Host Gloria Penner talks with the director of the Family Justice C

This is the season to be merry. But too often, the holidays with all the stresses and strains bring misery, rather than merriment to families and individuals. In a nation where nearly one-third of American women report physical or sexual abuse by a husband or boyfriend, domestic violence spikes over the holidays.

San Diego is fortunate to be home to the Family Justice Center, considered a national model for prevention and intervention in cases of domestic violence. Host Gloria Penner talks with Gael Strack, director of the San Diego Family Justice Center, about the center and ways to seek help over the holidays.
