Willie Nelson stars in biodiesel conference
Monday, February 6, 2006
It might smell like French fries when it's burning, but biodiesel is the country's fastest growing alternative fuel. 75-million gallons were produced last year. Willie Nelson produces his own formula called BioWillie. National Biodiesel Board CEO Joe Jobe says Biodiesel is gaining popularity in part because it's a renewable resource.
It's made from agricultural sources that you can grow every year, the energy to grow them is primarily from the sun, and land and the soil, and so you can grow those products every year unlike fossil fuels that are a finite resource.
The National Biodiesel Conference started Sunday and lasts till Wednesday. It's expected to attract two-thousand visitors. Beth Ford Roth, KPBS News.
