San Diego developer Doug Manchester has ambitious plans for the Navy Broadway Complex, a magnificent waterfront location often called San Diego's front porch.
But critics argue Manchester's profit motive will rob the citizens of San Diego of the civic waterfront space they deserve. They also say Manchester cost the Port District and the city of Oceanside millions of dollars in court settlements when previous redevelopment plans turned sour.
In the second of two interviews on the Navy Broadway project, KPBS reporter Alison St John spoke with Manchester spokesman, Perry Dealy, about the project.
