The migration of Mexican farm workers to rural California sustains agriculture, but it also sustains poverty. Host Tom Fudge speaks to the author of a report that analyzes immigration and the rural economy.
- Phillip Martin , co-author of The New Rural Poverty, a report published by The Urban Institute. He is a labor economist at UC Davis.
- Konane Martinez , health projects coordinator for the National Latino Research Center at Cal State San Marcos.
- Darrel Bostic , general manager at Black Dog Farms based in the Imperial County. He operates one of the largest farming companies in the region.
