Latino children’s literature tells immigrant stories

Francisco Jimenez came to the U.S. as the 4-year-old son of migrant farm workers. From humble beginnings, he has become a professor at Santa Clara University and author of several award winning autobiographical children's books.

Dr. Jimenez will be giving a lecture on the San Diego State campus at the Smith Recital Hall tonight, 3/29/06, at 7pm.

This is the first lecture of a new Latino/a Children's Authors Series that has been jointly launched by the National Center for the Study of Children's Literature and the Center for Latin American Studies at SDSU.
