The late Cesar Chavez founded the United Farm Workers and devoted his life to improving the working conditions of agricultural laborers. Host Tom Fudge speaks with two local experts about Chavez's life and how his activism is relevant today.

  • Jorge Mariscal , director of the Chicano Studies Program at UC San Diego. He is also the chair of UCSD's 2006 Cesar Chavez Celebration Committee. His latest book is Brown-Eyed Children of the Sun: Lessons from the Chicano Movement .
