Brush Fire Burning in Santa Ysabel

A 100-acre brush fire in Santa Ysabel near Julian is burning near State Routes 78 and 79. San Diego County sheriff's deputies are evacuating the Witch Creek and Mesa Grande areas.

There are evacuation centers in Santa Ysabel and Ramona. The fire is burning westward fueled by gusty winds and low humidity levels.

There’s a red flag warning in effect for the entire county today, meaning a higher risk of wildfires is possible due to the low humidity.
