The race for mayor of San Diego County culminates in next month’s election. It pits Democratic incumbent Steve Padilla against Republican challenger Cheryl Cox in a race that’s technically non-partisan. Yesterday, Mayor Padilla voiced his opinion on the state of the city.

Cheryl Cox is a member of the board of the Chula Vista Elementary School District. She is also the wife of former Chula Vista mayor and now County Supervisor Greg Cox. Today Cox discusses her background and her campaign.
