New San Marcos Skateboard Park Creates Opportunities for Area Youth
Maureen Cavanaugh (Guest Host): Next summer, the City of San Marcos will open a multi-million dollar park behind Mission Hills High School. Local residents will be able to enjoy some of the expected elements of a city park, plenty of open space, an off-leash dog area, a playground, and walking trails. However, Hollandia Park's 30-acre span also features lighted softball fields, walking trails, an amphitheater, and to the happiness of local skateboarders, a state-of-the-art skate park.
There will be a public meeting on Thursday, August 9th at 7 p.m. to discuss the future of the new skate park. The location is the San Marcos Community Center at 3 Civic Center Drive, 92069.
