Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Lauren Mack says the cement plug in the tunnel will go right up to the border fence.

Mack: So that it cannot be entered into from in Mexico and no one can get in it and come to the U.S.

Mack says the tunnel will eventually be filled in completely on the U.S. side.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent discovered the tunnel Monday when his drug sniffing dog alerted on a trailer.

Inside were more than 1,400 pounds of marijuana worth $5.6 million. The drugs were near a hole in the floor, which turned out to be the entrance to the tunnel.
