What were the top stories of 2007? The regional housing market experienced a sharp downturn, and the impending water crisis has communities looking to conserve. Also, the news out of San Diego City Hall was dominated by conflicts between Mayor Sanders and the City Council, and City Attorney Mike Aguirre's battles with both. The October wildfires reinforced to everyone in San Diego County that our region is susceptible to massive firestorms, and there's not much we can do to prevent them. Plus, the war in Iraq and debates between the president and Congress dominated national headlines.
