Museum of Contemporary Art Expands Downtown Location

We speak with the director and principal architect of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego about the expansion of the museum’s downtown location into the Santa Fe Depot.

Museum of Contemporary Art Expands Downtown Location

Tom Fudge : On Sunday, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will open it’s new downtown space. It’s located right next to the Santa Fe Train depot. In fact, the new exhibit space is in the old baggage area of the train station. Just north of that is a new three story building that will house museum offices, classrooms, and provide storage space.

The new downtown space has been 10 years in the planning. And it is designed by world-renowned architect Richard Gluckman. The museum’s other campus remains in La Jolla. Joining me to talk about what’s new with the Museum of Contemporary Art are Hugh Davies and Richard Gluckman.
