Joe Carnahan gained an indie rep with his gritty cop thriller Narc . Now he tries his hand at flashier filmmaking with an over-the-top action film, Smokin' Aces (opening January 26 throughout San Diego). The film stars Ray Liotta, Ryan Reynolds, Jeremy Piven, Andy Garcia and Alicia Keys.

crazy great movie.
question...if it was the FBI that killed Heller (to actually get rid of the "gone rogue" Heller/Sparazzo) in the alley that night and he crawled away and lived his life "as his alter ego (Sparazzo)"...and the FBI KNEW he lived because Sparazzo was present...then why did they LET him live? They knew Heller had created Sparazzo, then they didn't trust his alliance so they kill them. But he didn't die. And he lives his life as Sparazzo. But they knew Sparazzo was really Heller...so why didn't they kill Sparazzo.
I missed something, I think.

this carnahan's movie seems to be the best action movie of the year. despite it's very hard to find and download this movie from the web i actually did it!

I suggest you try Shoot Em Up which is in theaters now and has far better action. If you want to look for something older, check out John Woo's Hard Boiled or The Killer.
