Alison St John (Guest Host): School's out, but a battle about education continues to rage this summer. As with all battles over education, it is passionate and the players care deeply about the outcome. Everyone wants their child to learn better and faster, it's just how to do it that's dividing parents, teachers and politicians. The No Child Left Behind program is due to be reauthorized by Congress this September, but could be modified or even scrapped.

The debate raises questions like, should teachers be held more accountable and if so how? Can all children realistically be held to the same standards? And can public schools do the job?
