Independent Budget Analyst on the Mayor’s Proposed 2008 Budget

Alison St John (Guest Host): Andrea Tevlin holds a position at San Diego City Hall that didn't exist until a couple of years ago. It's a position that has made a big difference to how well informed citizens and city council members are about where the money is being spent. She is called the independent budget analyst and she is responsible to the city council. That's important because the council members approve or reject the mayor's financial plans .

Andrea Tevlin has taken this time to be in studio with us and talk about her perspective on the financial challenges facing the city, and whether she's confident in the mayor's plans to pull it out of trouble.
