San Diego May See Wind Power in its Future

Alison St John (Guest Host): California is ahead of many other states in its commitment to find alternative sources of energy. But utilities are already falling behind schedule in meeting an ambitious deadline to produce 20 percent of their electricity from renewable resources by 2010.

As San Diego considers its sustainable energy options, solar seems to make the most sense. But any alternative energy plan is likely to include a mix of renewable energy resources. What role will wind play in Southern California's energy future? Is there enough wind in this part of the world to harness effectively?
