December Nights

Balboa Park December Nights is the largest free community event in San Diego, attracting more than 250,000 visitors each year. In 2007 the Balboa Park event celebrates its 30th consecutive year.

Balboa Park December Nights is the largest free community event in San Diego, attracting more than 250,000 visitors each year. Begun in 1978, the two-day festival is Balboa Park’s traditional holiday gift to San Diego. This year, December Nights presented by Barona will take place December 7th and 8th and features free admission in the evenings to museums and cultural attractions, a wide variety of international foods, multi-cultural music and dance performances at the International Cottages, Christmas carolers, bell-ringers, choirs and bands, and unique gift shopping at Spanish Village. Don’t miss the Santa Lucia procession, which takes place each evening at 6 and 8 p.m. at the Museum of Man .

December Nights event hours: Friday, December 7 from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, December 8 from noon to 10 p.m.
