Cinema Junkie by Beth Accomando

Shakespeare on Screen

Actress Diane Venora, who may be the only actress to ever play the title role of Hamlet, will be on hand tonight at the Museum of Photographic Arts to answer questions after a screening of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet . Listen to my Film Chat with Maureen Cavanaugh about the new films series I'm curating at MoPA called The Film's the Thing: Shakespeare on Screen. The screening starts at 7 p.m. but arrive early and you might just catch a youthful Romeo wooing Juliet in the museum atrium. Festivities begin at around 6:30 p.m.

A contemporary classic and a wonderful first way to see this amazing play. Luhrmann's vision is bold, exciting and fresh and Di Caprio and Danes sparkle in the lead roles. You MUST see this movie! -----
