San Diego Superintendent Will Leave His Post 18 Months Early

Carl Cohn will leave his post as superintendent of the San Diego Unified School District 18 months before his four-year contract runs out. Cohn announced that he no longer has the energy or enthusiasm

Tom Fudge: Yesterday, Superintendent Carl Cohn of the San Diego Unified School District announced that he'd quit at the end of the year. That means he's planning to leave 18 months prior to the termination of his contract. He's being paid $250,000 a year.

Cohn made a statement explaining that he's leaving because he's ready to take it easier. But is there more to the story? And what does Cohn’s departure really mean for the San Diego? When Cohn was hired in fall of 2005 it was considered a coup to land the former Long Beach superintendent.
