‘Stay the Hand’ Explores Ancient Persia’s Role In the Middle East

Tom Fudge: The poetry, the myth and the music of Persian civilization is at the root of a new work of art called Stay the Hand . Stay the Hand is a dance, and it features the music of a man who comes from the culture. Shahrokh Yadegari is an Iranian Jew who's also a composer and professor of theater at UC San Diego. His music combines Middle Eastern melodies, instruments, and computer technology that acts as a kind of sonic mirror, as one journalist described it.
