School Board to Release "Big" Superintendent News Tomorrow

San Diego school board members are telling the public to wait until tomorrow for a big announcement in the superintendent search. KPBS reporter Ana Tintocalis has the story.

A group of school workers went to district headquarters today to hear who the district's next leader will be.

Bus driver Larry Issom was one of many people in the crowd who was shocked to hear there wasn't anything to announce.

Issom : It was a disappointment not to have an answer. We need a superintendent they need to get to work and get it done.

The one thing school board president Katherine Nakamura did say is the panel will hold a special meeting tomorrow to make some kind of announcement. Trustees have postponed a couple of meetings linked to the search this week.

The delays are causing speculation about what's going on. Some people think school board members can't agree on a candidate. Others think contract negotiations may be holding things up. The superintendent search is a secret process designed to protect the candidates.
