It seems soaring gas prices have pushed a lot of us to change our habits, big time. That's the word from a new Field Poll. Marianne Russ reports. The survey finds most Californians consider the cost of gas a serious or very serious problem. 2 in 3 are cutting back on spending in other areas to compensate for higher prices at the pump. And drivers are making other changes too. Nearly 80% say they're driving less. Nearly 70% say they're buying cheaper, lower grades of gasoline, and nearly 60% are using more fuel efficient vehicles. Carpooling is gaining popularity. Close to 30% say they're trying it; that's up nearly 10% from 2005, and a quarter of those surveyed say they're adjusting work hours to make fewer trips to the office. 17% are using public transportation more compared to 13% in 2005.
