Tijuana Mayor Jorge Ramos says city officials will respond by mail within 72 hours.

Ramos announced the new online service in San Diego. He says tourism in Tijuana is down 70 percent.

Ramos : I know that the main issue for our friends here in San Diego is public safety. I would like to announce that we've been having about six weeks of calm.

Kidnappings and shootouts have dropped off since the bloody drug cartel gun battle in late April. Tourists are not the targets of those crimes.

Ramos says there’s still more work to do, but law enforcement is making progress.

He recently fired 50 police officers for extortion and bought 65 new patrol cars with video cameras to monitor police action.
