Local Veteran Recounts Brother’s Death

Local war veterans attended Memorial Day ceremonies throughout San Diego County yesterday. One event took place at the Vietnam War Unit Memorial Monument on Coronado.

The monument is a concrete wall with the names of fallen servicemen. Three small ships are stationed in front of the wall.

That's where KPBS Reporter Ana Tintocalis spoke with Charles McVain -- a retired Navy captain. His younger brother died in Vietnam at the age of 25. She has this Memorial Day tribute.
