Meals-on-Wheels, Greater San Diego announced today it was awarded a $100,000 grant from the California Wellness Foundation to support its work to provide meals for homebound seniors.
The funding will support Meals-on-Wheels' core services such as volunteer coordination, client services and logistics including, food preparation, transportation and driver recruitment.
Meals-on-Wheels delivers more than 400,000 individual meals to homebound senior citizens in San Diego County annually. Volunteers pickup up the food from 21 drop sites to be delivered to seniors.
