The release of "Coraline" on DVD warranted a panel at this year's Comic-Con and brought author Neil Gaiman and director Henry Selick along with many of the voice actors for the film. Gaiman is a Comic-Con favorite for works such as "Sandman," "Stardust," and "Coraline." Selick enjoys a similar cult following for his painstakingly detailed stop motion animation in films such as "A Nightmare Before Christmas," "James and the Giant Peach," and most recently "Coraline." I interviewed the two in the press line after the panel for the Comic-Con YouTube Channel. Check out what they had to say about the dark world of "Coraline" and the state of American animation. Then you can watch a video of Gaiman reflecting on the 40th Anniversary of Comic-Con and what makes the convention unique.

Neil Gaiman films are great and family friendly, even if a little dark.

Plus, I like how they kept to the old fashion way of making stop motion animation.
