Tomorrow marks the first year Dr. Terry Grier has been superintendent of the San Diego Unified School District. Many observers say he took the reins at the worst time for public education in California.
Over the past 12 months, Grier has been forced to slash the district's budget -- and he expects more of the same next school year. San Diego Unified is facing a $146 million state funding shortfall.
KPBS Education Reporter sat down with Grier to talk about the coming year and his first year in the district.
