San Diego County authorities say they confirmed three cases of swine flu, bringing the county's total to 11 since the outbreak began. Three public schools closed.
The county Health and Human Services Agency said Friday that the new cases are a 48-year-old man who was diagnosed in Nebraska and a 22-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter. None are hospitalized.
The San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and Kearny High School will close until May 18, earlier if tests are negative. Each has a student with a probable case. Mission Hills High School will also close, though it's unclear for how long.
The state Public Health Department has confirmed eight cases in San Diego. County Public Health Officer Wilma Wooten says the three latest cases are not reflected in the state tally.
