Academy Award-winning actress Eva Marie Saint, star of North by Northwest and On the Waterfront, performs the work of Willa Cather in the play On the Divide at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. Saint is joined on stage by her producer/director/husband Jeffrey Hayden who interpreted the works of the great pioneer novelist.
Maureen Cavanaugh: Actress Eva Marie Saint could easily rest on her laurels after a remarkable screen career. After all, she made Marlon Brando do the right thing in On the Waterfront, settled Israel with Paul Newman in Exodus, and dangled from Mount Rushmore with Cary Grant in North by Northwest.
But besides not looking down, looking backwards is not one of her favorite things. So, Eva Marie Saint and director Jeffrey Hayden, her husband of 57 years, are looking forward to this weekend at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. They will be giving a dramatic reading from the works of novelist Willa Cather.
