Audrey, the Final Frontier and The Dude

A quick note about another alternate movie venue – Cinema Under the Stars (4040 Goldfinch Street in Mission Hills) has extended its outdoor movie season through November 28. This weekend you can catch the always charming Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” will screen today and Saturday at Cinema Under the Stars. Doors open at 5:30 pm film begins at 7:30 pm. Then on November 19-21, Cinema Under the Stars goes contemporary – futuristic even – with screenings of J.J. Abrams’ revisionist take on “Star Trek.” Then the outdoor film season closes with “The Big Lebowski” on November 7 and 28. With Bridges’ drugged out performance in the current release of “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” you might feel the urge to see him in one of his best and most enjoyable performances as The Dude in the Coen Brothers’ comedy. Cinema Under the Stars mixes old classic with new in its delightful outdoor venue. Although the season closes this month, the venue is available for rental if you ever want to host your own outdoor film event. Or maybe screen your own movie.
